The Taylor PS14ce LTD is the result of an aimless stroll through the Taylor tonewood warehouse. Company co-founder Bob Taylor and master builder Andy Powers were chatting and looking through their warehouse one day when they found a pile of unsorted wood from years past. The pair took it upon themselves to re-sort the pile and discovered master grade sets of Macassar ebony left over from previous builds. Sensing an opportunity to create something extraordinary, Andy convinced Bob to let him use the ebony for a limited run of Presentation Series guitars. This 6-string acoustic-electric guitar’s back and sides are Macassar ebony with an old-growth sinker redwood top added for extra warmth and harmonic complexity. Paired with V-Class architecture, the effect is only amplified, creating a bell-like sound with potent overtones. There are only 50 PS14ce LTD’s available worldwide. The tonewoods that make up the Taylor Presentation Series PS14ce LTD are a testament to Taylor’s unwavering quest for the ultimate acoustic tone. The ebony back and sides provide a solid tonal foundation with a bright, bell-like attack. It’s exceedingly rare to find a guitar with ebony back and sides, but when ebony is used, the guitar takes on its player’s distinct characteristics. Another ultra-rare tonewood, sinker redwood, makes an appearance on the top of the PS14ce LTD. Cut from ancient logs salvaged from Northern Californian rivers, sinker redwood adds warmth and a certain sonic complexity to the sound. All things considered, the PS14ce LTD is an incredibly touch-sensitive instrument that showcases as much warmth, clarity, and sustain as your playing style needs.

It’s outfitted with Taylor’s groundbreaking Expression System 2 pickup system. Instead of the traditional under-saddle pickup, the ES2 pickup is located behind the bridge to better capture the saddle’s vibration. Because of how it’s positioned, the ES2 pickup delivers impressive clarity and authentic acoustic character. You can tweak your tone with bass and treble controls on the upper bout of the guitar.
