The 1958 Les Paul™ Standard Reissue recreates the painstaking construction methods associated with the legendary '59 Reissues while incorporating several historically accurate specifications that give the '58 its own distinctive character. Like the original 1958 models, it features narrow frets that allow more of the fingerboard's natural wood character to contribute to the instrument's tonal response. Its rounded, chunky neck profile provides a substantial feel in the hand while offering excellent leverage for expressive bends. A beautifully figured plain maple top gives each instrument its own individual character, with natural variations that make every guitar unique. Adding to its authentic vintage appeal is the Murphy Lab Heavy Aged finish treatment, meticulously applied by Gibson's skilled artisans. Combined with heavily aged hardware, the finish recreates the appearance, feel, and character of decades of intense playing and natural wear.
