In 1963, the Precision Bass had rightfully established itself as an essential instrument in popular music. It was commonly seen in the hands of the world's top musicians on various stages and in recording studios. Despite the introduction of Fender's new Jazz Bass in 1960, the Precision Bass remained unrivaled and underwent minimal changes during the early 1960s.

The Custom Shop 63 Precision Bass pays homage to this iconic instrument. It boasts a meticulously crafted two-piece select alder body with a Journeyman Relic lacquer finish. The neck, made from quartersawn maple, features a 60s-style oval C profile, a 7.25-radius round-lam rosewood fingerboard, and 20 medium jumbo frets.

Equipped with the Custom Shop hand-wound 62 Precision Bass pickup, this bass delivers the authentic vintage sound with its precise specifications and powerful low-end thump. The vintage wiring, along with the master volume and tone controls, further contribute to its classic tone. Additional features of this bass include a four-ply brown shell pickguard, four-saddle vintage-style bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut, and a disc string tree. The package also includes a deluxe hardshell case, strap, and a certificate of authenticity.
