prs-custom-24-08-dark-cherry-sunburst
PRS Custom 24-08, Dark Cherry Sunburst
Updated Icon
The Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar, the iconic instrument that started it all back in 1985. The Custom 24-08 keeps many of the foundational specs as the original Custom – maple top, mahogany back and neck, 24 frets, 25” scale length, the PRS patented Gen III tremolo – but adds a new level of versatility with its TCI pickups and intuitive switching system. Featuring two mini-toggle coil-tap switches, the Custom 24-08 has eight different pickup settings that provide an array of humbucking and single coil tones, including a dual single coil option. For classic PRS playability, reliability, and tone with ultimate flexibility, check out the Custom 24-08.

For 2024, PRS Guitars is updating the tuning machines on many of our Core guitars. While, aesthetically, our new Wing buttons are designed to echo the 12th fret bird wingspan design, they were first and foremost designed for tonal reasons all the way back in 1982. Because these buttons are lighter weight than their metal predecessors, they are subtracting less energy from the vibrating strings, thus helping the guitar ring longer and at a more musical note.

SPECIFICATIONS

BODY
Body Construction: Solidbody
Top Wood: Maple
Back Wood: Mahogany
Top Carve: Violin

NECK
Number of Frets: 24
Scale Length: 25"
Neck Wood: Mahogany
Neck Construction: One-Piece
Truss Rod: PRS Double-Acting
Neck Shape: Pattern Thin
Neck Depth at the 1/2 Fret: 53/64"
Neck Depth at the 12 1/2 Fret: 57/64"
Neck Width at the Nut: 1 11/16"
Neck Width at the Body: 2 1/4"
Fretboard Wood: Rosewood
Fretboard Radius: 10"
Fretboard Inlay: Birds
Headstock Logo: Signature, Inlaid

NECK/BODY ASSEMBLY
Neck/Body Assembly Type: Set

FINISH
Finish Type: High-Gloss Nitro

HARDWARE
Bridge: PRS Patented Tremolo, Gen III
Tuners: PRS Phase III Locking Tuners with Wing Buttons
Hardware Type: Nickel
Nut: PRS
Truss Rod Cover: "Custom"

ELECTRONICS
Treble Pickup: TCI
Bass Pickup: TCI
Controls: Volume & Tone Control w/ 3-Way Toggle Pickup Switch and Two Mini Toggle Coil-Tap Pickup Switches

ADDITIONAL INFO
Strings: PRS Signature 10-46
Tuning: Standard (6 String): E, A, D, G, B, E
Case: Hardshell Case
Options: 10 Top with Hybrid Hardware
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0996/5384/5301/files/Custom-24-08-Dark-Cherry-Sunburst_4a4acf61-947d-497b-b96d-3339107679b4.jpg?v=1782444118
