With roots dating back to the earliest days of Martin, this ultra-compact 12-fret instrument features a short 21.38" scale length and is designed for Terz tuning—a minor third higher than standard—delivering a focused, bell-like voice that adds shimmer, clarity, and new sonic texture to any arrangement. Style 28 appointments—including a gloss spruce top with aging toner, solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, antique white binding, and mother-of-pearl fingerboard inlays—pair premium craftsmanship with distinctive tone. Despite its compact size, it offers surprising depth and can also be tuned to standard pitch for added versatility.

Specifications

Body Size: 5 Terz 12 Fret
Back Material: East Indian Rosewood
Side Material: East Indian Rosewood
Top Material: Spruce
Top Color: Aging Toner
Neck Shape: Modified Low Oval
Neck Taper: High-Performance Taper
Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 3/4''
Case: Hardshell Case
Recommended Strings: Authentic Acoustic Lifespan® 2.0 Guitar Strings Phosphor Bronze - Custom Light

Top Material: Spruce
Finish Top: Gloss
Top Color: Aging Toner
Top Inlay Material: Multi-Stripe
Top Detail: None
Binding: Antique White
Bridge Material: Ebony
Bridge Style: Size 5 Modern Straightline
Bridge String Spacing: 2 5/32"
Bridge Pin Material: Bone
Bridge Pin Dots: Faux Tortoise
Pickguard: None
Pickguard Inlay: None
Rosette: Style 28 Multi-Stripe
Saddle: Bone
Saddle Radius: 16"

Body Size: 5 Terz 12 Fret
Construction: Dovetail Neck Joint
Back Material: East Indian Rosewood
Side Material: East Indian Rosewood
Back and Side Finish: Gloss
Back and Sides Color: Natural
Back Detail: None
Side Detail: None
Back Purfling/Strip: Style 28 with Black Stripe
Back Inlay Material: Multi-Stripe
Side Inlay Material: None
Bracing Pattern: X-Brace
Brace Shape: Non-Scalloped
Brace Material: Spruce
Brace Size: 1/4"
Heelcap: Antique White
Endpiece: Antique White
Endpiece Inlay: Multi-Stripe

Neck Shape: Modified Low Oval
Neck Taper: High-Performance Taper
Neck Material: Select Hardwood
Neck Color: Dark Mahogany
Finish Neck: Satin
Scale Length: 21.38"
Number of Frets Total: 18
Neck Joins Body At: 12th Fret
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Fingerboard Width at 12th Fret: 2 1/8''
Fingerboard Width at Nut: 1 3/4''
Fingerboard Inlay Style: Style 28
Fingerboard Inlay Material: Mother-of-Pearl
Fingerboard Binding Material: None
Side Dots: White

Headstock Shape: Solid with Square Taper and Diamond
Headplate Material: East Indian Rosewood
Headplate Logo Style: Script Old Style Overlay
Headplate Binding Material: None
Tuning Machines: Nickel Open Gear
Knob: Butterbean
Nut Material: Bone
//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0996/5384/5301/files/Size-5-Terz-28_f_34235b63-c31c-42a1-9149-03763ec599a4.jpg?v=1787022479
https://musiquediplomate.com/products/martin-5-28-terz-standard-series-5-terz-12-fret-acoustic-aging-toner
