Longtime fans will also no doubt be familiar with his “blacked-out” 1989 Gibson Les Paul™ Custom, which he has used on numerous Metallica albums and tours. Now the Gibson Custom Shop has recreated this renowned guitar in exquisite detail. Like the original, the Kirk Hammett 1989 Les Paul Custom features all-black hardware, and per Kirk’s wishes, it comes equipped with uncovered T-Type pickups, along with a Fishman® Powerbridge piezo bridge pickup system with a Fishman Powerchip preamp and volume control that bring simulated full-bodied acoustic tone to this versatile Les Paul Custom. Artfully aged by the Murphy Lab to match the look and feel of Kirk’s original 1989 Les Paul Custom, only 125 units have been crafted in a fitting tribute to a metal guitar master and one of his favorite instruments.

Body:

Body Style: Les Paul
Body Shape: Les Paul
Body Material: One Piece Mahogany
Top: Plain Maple
Binding: 7-ply Top, 5-ply Back and Headstock, Single Ply Fretboard
Body Finish: Murphy Lab Aged Nitrocellulose Lacquer

Neck:

Profile: SlimTaper
Scale Length: 628.65 mm / 24.75 in
Fingerboard Material: Ebony
Fingerboard Radius: 304.8 mm / 12 in
Fret Count: 22
Frets: Reissue
Nut Material: Corian
Nut Width: 42.85 mm / 1.687 in
End Of Board Width: 52.37 mm / 2.061 in
Inlays: Mother of Pearl Custom Block
Joint: Glued In, Set Neck; Long Neck Tenon

Hardware:

Finish: Black
Bridge: Fishman Powerbridge
Tailpiece: Stop Bar
Tuning Machines: Grover Rotomatic with Kidney Buttons
Truss Rod: Standard
Truss Rod Cover: Black Molded 2-ply Bell, Hot Stamp "Les Paul Custom"
Control Knobs: Black Speed
Switch Tip: Black
Switch washer: Black with Gold Hot Stamp
Jack Plate Cover: Black
Control Covers: Custom Shop Medallion and Black
Strap Buttons: 2 - Black Schaller S-Lock - Locking Strap Buttons in the Case
Mounting Rings: Black
Pickup Covers: None

Electronics:

Neck Pickup: T-Type
Bridge Pickup: T-Type
Under Saddle Pickup: Fishman Powerbridge Piezo Pickup
Controls: 2 Volume (for Neck and Bridge Pickups), Master Tone, Fishman Powerbridge Volume
Pickup Selector: 3-way Toggle
Output Jack: 1/4"
Preamp: Fishman Powerchip Preamp - 9V Battery in Control Cavity

Miscellaneous:

Strings Gauge: .010, .013, .017, .026, .036, .046
Case: Gibson Deluxe Protector Case
Accessories: Certificate of Authenticity

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0996/5384/5301/files/Gibson.Custom.1_6fe383f5-1ad9-442e-9ca0-d3d9da8018ea.png?v=1782393626
